Eidos Interactive has released a trailer and several screenshots for
Tomb Raider: Underworld. Lara Croft has taken a beating over the years as other games have horned in on her territory. Still she can out explore Indiana Jones who hasn't had an adventure game since 2003. Yes I'm ignoring the LEGO title.
Tomb Raider: Legends had a fairly good showing but
TR: Underworld faces some stiff competition.
Uncharted: Drakes Fortune took the Tomb Raider formula and made it it's own. Without some serious innovations, the only thing that will keep Lara afloat is
Uncharted being a PS3 exclusive and her big... well Eidos is very good with breast physics.
I would venture a guess that
Tomb Raider: Underworld has what it takes to stand out graphically on the PC and next-gen consoles. Both trailers showcase the engine nicely displaying renders of water and fire. This new trailer really shows off the difference using a motion captured Lara Croft makes. As a fan of Norse mythology, I'm interested in how
TR: Underworld manages to tie in Thor's hammer, Avalon and Thailand. It's nice to know it's all wrapped up in a pretty package.
Eidos Interactive has released the first gameplay trailer for their upcoming videogame, Tomb Raider: Underworld.
Tomb Raider: Underworld features Lara Croft in her most epic and dangerous adventure yet, as she treks all over the globe searching for the mythical artifact, Thor's hammer, as well as the answers to centuries old mysteries. The game launches November 18th for the XBOX 360, PS3, PS2, PC, and Nintendo Wii and DS consoles.
