Harmonix and MTV Games announced today new singles from Staind, Scars on Broadway and The New No2 will make their debut in the Rock Band™ Music Store catalog of downloadable content. Available July 29, Scars on Broadway—consisting of System of a Down members Daron Malakian (vocals/guitar) and John Dolmayan (drums), in addition to Franky Perez (guitar/backing vocals), Danny Shamoun (keyboards/percussion), and Dominic Cifarelli (bass)— exclusively release their first single to Rock Band’s download catalog, “They Say,” from their self-titled debut. “They Say” will be available for $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft).
Another debut will be Staind’s “This Is It” – the first single from their forthcoming sixth studio album, The Illusion of Progress. Staind’s last three studio albums debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Album Chart, earning their place as one of the most successful rock bands of the new millennium. In the past decade, Staind has sold more than 12 million records worldwide and have had four #1 singles. “This is It” will be available for $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360).
Rounding out the troika of single debuts on July 29 will be The New No2 with “Yomp,” the first single from their forthcoming debut You Are Here. The New No2 are Dhani Harrison (the only son of legendary Beatle George Harrison) and Oli Hecks. Formed in 2006, The New No2 feature Harrison on lead, synths and vocals, Hecks on drums and synths. “Yomp” will be available for $.99 (80 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360).
Testament dig into their catalog with their first Rock Band download, “Electric Crown,” available July 29. “Electric Clown’ is from their 1992 studio album, The Ritual, when they moved from speed metal to heavier more melodic metal. Testament continues to be one of the most influential American metal bands in music history. Formed in 1983 in Northern California, Testament continues to tour and release new albums. “Electric Clown” will be available for $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360).
