No games for me ... Off to Chicago for the Pitchfork Music Festival.

I have two major things planned for this weekend. Sleep and Dark Knight. Of course I'll probably end up playing Team Fortress 2 and Bad Company at some point but that's besides the point.

Perry Rhodan is essentially a 1960's Germany Buck Rogers, and -- I don't know about you, but -- I hadn't the faintest about the character. I looked him up at Barnes & Noble, hoping to tie in a little pulp sci-fi literature with my upcoming review of The Immortals of Terra: A Perry Rhodan Adventure. No quick/easy luck. They had access to one book, online, in German. But the only reason I cared was because the game is a gem. And yes, I do realize that I'm talking about an adventure game. But this one is so much less about pixel hunting, and so much more about fully-fleshed storytelling, and sensible puzzles that actually make sense. A rare phenomenon in adventure gaming nowadays.

Time to finish up writing and playing a few games that I am reviewing, including Deadliest Catch , Rock Band: Aerosmith and Battlefield: Commando 3. Also will be working on some testing of several Hooked Up items that have accumulated, and hope that some of the new electronic toys that are due in arrive :-)

DBZ Burst Limit has not exceeded my expectations as much as it has matched them. One thing that has exceeded expectations is Batman: The Dark Knight being released this weekend. The movie far surpassed my expectations and is everything that a Batman movie can be. I hope they don't spoil the experience by making a bad tie-in game. Should they take the Quantum Solace route and wait a year? Maybe.

I'm working through Overlord: Raising Hell for the PS3 and trying my hand at the Presidential race in The Political Machine 2008. There's probably a good "which is the greater evil" joke in there somewhere, but I'm just not seeing it.
