Come on in, I’ve got a good one for you, folks. Developer Solideo has announced instant-death action game Sick Samurai, and it looks, well…sick. It has an October 2025 release date for Steam and, frankly, that is far too long to have to wait. Featuring the same top-down camera angle and blazing fast gameplay-style of Hotline Miami, there is no mistaking Sick Samurai’s video game inspirations. Aesthetically, it is said to be inspired by Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, while the game will also feature full voice-acted dialogue, hand-drawn art, and a LoFi hip-hop and jazz soundtrack.
This is giving me flashbacks of playing Hotline Miami on my PlayStation Vita, which has me hoping that Sick Samurai will play well on Steam Deck when it releases. You really need to check out this trailer:
