Remember that game from 10 years ago that made the creator so much money, that he just shut it down and left. Remember the rumors that Nintendo tried to sue him because he allegedly used the pipes from Super Mario World. Then there were clones, and ticket arcades, and different versions, and all kinds of flappy bird nonsense. Then the world got over Flappy Bird and moved on to...wait what? They never moved on? Oh.
Well, Flappy bird is officially making a come back. A team called The Flappy Bird Foundation have acquired the rights to bring the hopping/floating bird back into the mobileverse. And if you don't believe me, look at this.
This is slated to release in Fall of 2024 on a "variety of platforms", including web browers, with full releases hitting Android and iOS in 2025. They're promising new game modes, multiplayer, and more. I wasn't much of a Flappy Bird player, as I preferred my birds to be more angry, but if this is real, we'll see if it'll have the same white hotness of it's predecessor. There's even a website.
