Longtime readers know that I am a huge fan of Pinball FX. I feel that the platform represents one of the best values in video games, providing players with an enormous value. I usually play a Pinball FX table for at least 15-20 hours, which is a heck of a return on investment for something that typically sells for $5.49.
Last week, Pinball FX released two new tables, which I think will appeal to very different players, though I feel like there may be some crossover somewhere on the Venn diagram between fans of Goat Simulator and The Princess Bride. For both fan bases, these tables will provide plenty of nostalgic fun; the only difference is that the Princess Bride fans are likely a few years older than the Goat Sim fans.
Sorry about the cursing, y'all. You know...pinball. It makes you curse.
I took a look at both of these tables last week on release day, and have spent hours since then engaging with them. The Princess Bride definitely feels like the more traditional table of the two, and is the one that I find myself gravitating towards the most. As a huge fan of the film, I love the inclusion of real audio clips (and footage!) from the movie, and I find the minigames and events to be very clever and engaging.
The Goat Simulator table has been mostly co-opted by my eight-year-old, who happens to be in the midst of a Goat Simulator phase. During my admittedly more brief time with the table, I've been enjoying the way I can use the game's willingness to give me a ton of prizes and extra balls to keep things going well beyond my typical stopping point.
Both of these tables are available now on Pinball FX, which is on just about any platform you could name. Depending on your age and proclivities, you might prefer one over the other, but rest assured that either way you go, you are in for a good time.
