A while ago, I reviewed the Batman: Arkham VR game and it was a simplistic VR game that put you in the cowl of Batman with simplistic action sequences and some minor sleuthing. What was shown for Batman: Arkham Shadow today at Gamescom is way, way more than that game.
Batman: Arkham Shadow is made exclusively for the Quest 3 and it looks like a full fledged VR action game. You can see you're not standing one place anymore as you can walk around and be the Dark Knight complete with gadgets and hand to hand combat. The free flowing style combat where you quickly traverse to your next opponent and punch him repeatedly looks amazing.
I was truly surprised at how much more of a game this was and how much more free you are to move around in this one. It looks like it might be a really solid addition to the Arkham line of Batman games. And, you get some really good voice acting with the likes of Troy Baker as Harvey Dent, the iconic Tara Strong as Harley, and Chelsea Kane as Barbara Gordon.
Batman: Arkham Shadow will be out in October, so not too much longer. I can't wait to try this one out.
