Listen up, Helldivers, a new premium warbond is incoming to our beloved Helldivers 2 on April 11th. The “Democratic Detonation” warbond will add several explosive tools to our arsenal to help us blast Bugs and spill Automaton oil. For starters, four new weapons are being added – the BR-14 Adjudicator Rifle with armor-penetrating rounds, the R-36 Eruptor bolt-action rifle with jet-assisted rounds that explode on impact, the CB-9 Exploding Crossbow that should speak for itself, and finally, the GP-31 Grenade Pistol for when your last stand needs to be an explosive one.
There’s plenty more where that came from, fellow Helldivers, as Super Earth High Command is also issuing a new GP-123 Thermite Grenade that burns at 2,000 degrees Celsius, which should be useful against those pesky Chargers. To assist in our endeavor to take in what we’re dishing out, three additional armor sets will be available for requisition as well. The CE-27 Ground breaker medium armor, the CE-07 Demolition Specialist light armor, and the FS-55 Devastator heavy armor.
These high-powered reinforcements will arrive in the nick of time, as reports from Strohmann News indicate that the Automatons have deployed flying gunships as we make our final assault on their foothold in the galaxy. Rumors are also swirling that they may be colluding with the Bugs to establish air superiority. What a time to be alive, Helldivers, no matter how brief it may be.
My Helldivers shtick aside, I don’t think I have ever played a live service game with this impressive of a release cadence for new content. It seems PlayStation knew what it was doing when they chose Helldivers 2 as its first push into the realm of live service.
