Very little has been revealed of Marvel’s 1943: Rise of Hydra game since it was announced. All we knew was that there was a game coming based on Captain America and Black Panther. Well, developers Skydance New Media and Marvel Games are ready to start pulling back the curtain on the project and let us know what’s in store for players when the game launches.
A trailer has been released that lays the foundation for the game’s storyline. We don’t get to see any gameplay footage but do learn that the game will follow four separate protagonists, each with their own tactics all fighting for the same goal: stop Hydra. The four characters that will be taking the spotlight are Captain America, Black Panther, Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos, and Nanali of the Wakandan Spy Network. The game, which is targeting a 2025 release date, is based loosely on the Marvel Comic series Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers.
Based on what is shown, I would imagine that each of the characters has their own unique gameplay style, ranging from hand-to-hand combat, run and gun gameplay, to stealth and sneaking. Then again, it could be possible that they all dabble in those areas in their own ways.
