Ubisoft recently revealed that its hit tactical FPS Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is getting a whopping ninth year of post-launch content, including four individual seasons. Dubbed “Operation Deadly Omen”, year nine season one will introduce a new playable operator named Deimos, improvements to anti-cheat, and a wealth of gameplay changes including the tuning of attachments and shields to help bring back an emphasis on tactical gameplay.
Deimos will join the attackers and comes equipped with a DeathMARK Tracker gadget which tracks a target’s precise location and gives a live ping. He also carries a powerful new .44 Vendetta revolver as his secondary weapon. Other year nine season one updates include a new inventory management system called Locker and improvements to player onboarding.
To mark the occasion, Ubisoft also released a new animated trailer to introduce Deimos, which you can see below. I love these short form animated films from Ubisoft, and I always think about how cool a Rainbow Six Siege series in this style would be.
