We've heard rumors for the longest time that Gearbox's Borderlands was leaving the gaming world and heading to the big screen. There have been casting announcements with some big name stars, and early images of the project, and now we get to see it in action as the first trailer for the film has been released.
Coming from Lionsgate, Borderlands is going to bring the tale of a group of vault hunters on Pandora to life with the likes of Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, Cate Blanchett, and the vocal talents of Mr. Jack Black (as Claptrap). There are definitely some liberties being taken based on what is shown below (that's not how Tiny Tina would act, in any situation), but the film certainly seems to capture the franchises patented off-the-wall humor and over-the-top action.
The film is currently planned for release on August 9, 2024.
