As you might have heard, Xbox held a Developer Direct event yesterday which featured several of its 2024 games. One of which was Avowed, the next RPG from developer Obsidian. The nearly eight-minute deep dive gave us the best look yet at the combat, enemies, and world of the first-person RPG. It gives off major Skyrim vibes, albeit more stylized. Combat features a variety of weapons, including swords, axes, magic wands, bows, and even guns (flintlocks, at least). The world of Avowed includes a lot of variety as well, from deserts to forests to volcanoes, and it all looks gorgeous. Speaking of gorgeous, the game boasts some of the best key art I've ever seen - kudos to the art team.
Avowed is launching this Fall on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass.
