Are you familiar with nonogram-style puzzles? The goal of these types of games is to fill the grid or picture cross grid and reveal a hidden image by deciding which nonogram cells to color in and which to leave blank. I don’t know when I got into the nonogram style of puzzles, but there is something addicting about them. Just like Tetris, I begin to see the grid pattern on the carpet or the ceiling of my bed. Once or twice a year I find myself playing these types of puzzle games non-stop until I’ve had my fill. I’m unfamiliar with Rainy Frog or their Piczle series of games, but I feel I need to be. The developer has Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons coming to Nintendo Switch and PC Steam on February 27 of next year. Combining the puzzle game I find myself addicted to and the farm sim series I’ve loved since I was a child seems like a no-brainer for me. Heck, it feels like they might have made this series just for me.
In Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons you’ll play through over 350, about 30 hours worth of nonogram logic-puzzles that celebrate the farm life game series Story of Seasons. Villagers, bachelors, tools, crops, and animals are all there to discover. There are five unlockable collage puzzles. Each collage puzzle combines dozens of individual nonograms that each unlock part of a bigger canvas. Clearing specific puzzles will unlock entries in the in-game almanac that celebrates all of the characters and critters from the Story of Seasons games. And just like the regular Story of Seasons titles you’ll have a farm, crops, and even have the seasons change.
Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons is coming to Switch and PC via Steam at the end of February, just in time for spring.
