Assassin’s Creed Mirage is going back to the series’ roots with a return to the Middle East, and more specifically, 9th century Baghdad. Mirage is also scaling back the enormous maps utilized in previous open world releases like 2020’s Valhalla, and based on the latest trailer from Ubisoft, I think it is a decision that will pay dividends for Mirage.
Baghdad looks like a city full of life, landmarks, and places to explore while playing as Basim, who is returning from AC Valhalla as this game’s protagonist. In Mirage, Basim joins the ancient order known as The Hidden Ones – the precursor to the Assassin’s as we know them in previous games. AC Mirage appears to be shaping up nicely as it nears release, which Ubisoft recently moved up a week to October 5th. It will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
