I come before you once again, as Gaming Nexus’ resident Battlefield nerd, to inform you that a sixth season of post-launch content is coming to Battlefield 2042 in October. If you’re a regular player, you’ll know that this means there is a gaping hole between the end of Season 5 and start of Season 6.
Fret not, as developer DICE is filling the void with a six-week event they are calling Battlefield 2042 Redux, a remixed replay of previous limited-time events such as The Liquidators, the Battle of Nordvik, and Leviathan Rising. Beginning August 29th, these events will include the return of seasonal game modes including, Rush Chaos XL, Tactical Conquest, Conquest Assault, Breakthrough Chaos, and Shutdown (a personal favorite) on a weekly rotation.
DICE isn’t stopping there, also bringing back once limited-time cosmetics and bundles, which can now be earned through gameplay by acquiring Ribbons, rather than needing to be purchased. There will also be new rewards to unlock during Redux to keep things fresh. Read more about the update on the Battlefield Blog or check out a new trailer for the Redux event below, which also includes our first teaser for the new Season 6 map below.
