We're fast approaching summer so the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in the fall keeps drawing closer and closer, but we'll have to be content with cinema news for the moment until the next gaming installment arrives. So file this under game-adjacent news, but next week at MomoCon in Atlanta, Sony Pictures wants to break a world record of the largest gathering of cosplaying web slingers. The previous record was set at the same event in 2021 with 601 Spideys of all shapes and (being cosplay) sizes. This obviously ties in well with promoting the upcoming June 2nd release of the film, Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse.
MomoCon runs the weekend of May 25th to the 28th. The opportunity to break the record will happen in front of the Georgia World Congress Center near the registration hall on Saturday, May 27 at 2 PM ET. No word yet on whether drunk Uncle Ben might also make an appearance so 700+ Spider-Men can simultaneously mourn his loss, which I'm guessing would be another record.
