It's been a long time since the original release of the NES homebrew game Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril. A few years ago the game even saw a physical Famicom cartridge released. Now it's time for Timmy to once again take down the Supermech, only this time it's on a modern console.
Much like the game was originally launched on the NES, Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril will see a release on the Nintendo Switch on May 19th. While the trailer doesn't specifically say it, the game's creator Sivak responded to a question in the comments asking if this will have a physical release and as of right now it's going to be digital only on the eShop. If you're a fan of games like Mega Man and Metroid, I'd recommend checking the game out. Personally I'm hoping that if this does well enough that Sivak will consider putting the sequel Battle Kid 2: Mountain of Torment on the Switch as well.
