Square Enix has finally unveiled a release date for the pixel remasters of their first six Final Fantasy games. The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series includes Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy VI. They include quality of life upgrades that retain the retro design of these old masterpieces.
The PS4 and Switch versions will include the option to switch between the rearranged and original soundtracks for the games, as well as a choice of in-game fonts. Console players can also expect additional boost features that include switching off random encounters and adjusting experience modifiers.
Players who purchase the Switch version by May 25, 2023 will receive two themed wallpapers based on the individual games purchased from the series. Players who purchase the complete series will receive all 12 themed Wallpapers.
Players who purchase the digital edition of the games on PS4 between April 19, 2023 – May 25, 2023 will receive a theme and avatar in accordance with the individual games purchased from the series. Players who purchase the complete series will receive every theme and avatar included with the individual games which is a total of six themes and six avatars.
The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Series is coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on April 19, 2023. The series is already available now on Steam and mobile devices. The games can be bought individually, which cost between $11.99 and $17.99, or through a bundle.
