The Arcade Crew and Bezerk Studios released Infernax in February 2022. This game compared itself to the likes of Adventure of Link, and Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest. The game also let you make decisions that changed the outcome, and led you to some pretty funny endings. I've only seen two, but that's beside the point. The game has seen a few updates since then (check out the Stranger FREE DLC), but one of it's biggest just came to the forefront on April 5th, and it's FREE!
Titled Infernax, Deux or Die, Infernax introduces couch Co-op play with a brand new character, named Cervul. Cervul can throw axes, and is a great range fighter. he also brings new upgradable tools. Cervul gets a banner which speeds up anyone in its range, a crossbow, which is powerful but takes a while to load, a movable shield, self explanatory, and bandages to recharge BOTH players at any time. These are upgradable with XP, and you can either play with a friend, or switch between them in single player mode. The games enemies are rebalanced, either way. Check out some gameplay.
The absolute coolest thing here, is "Gun Mode", which is revealed by putting in the famous Konami code on the title screen. When Alcedor shows up, he flips into the picture like Contra's Bill (or Lance), and it made me laugh with excitement. It is overpowered. It is nonsense. And it is awesome. Take my word for it. Infernax is available on pretty much every current and last gen system, including Game Pass, and you're going to love it.
