Yes, you read that correctly. Roller Drama is a visual novel sport management title that puts you behind the wheel (wheels?) of a roller derby team amidst the collapse of society. Today, developer Open Lab Games dropped a new gameplay trailer which gives us a nice glimpse at how in the world all of this comes together in Roller Drama.
During matches, you mix strategy and real-time controls to try to get the win, but outside of competitions is where things get really interesting. As the team’s coach, you must manage the personal and professional lives of each of your five team members as they deal with friendship, heartbreak, rivalries, and more of life's intricacies. This is all complicated by the aforementioned societal upheaval which interferes with daily life, forcing you to make some tough decisions along the way. But choose wisely, as your choices will affect both the outcome of matches, and the well-being of your team.
Roller Drama is launching for PC, Switch, iOS, and Android in early 2023, with an eventual release on PlayStation and Xbox. There is a fresh demo available on Steam, and it’s compatible with Steam Deck as well.
