Bandai Namco dropped another meaty six minute gameplay trailer for their upcoming turn-based JRPG based off the famous anime One Piece titled One Piece Odyssey. In this new trailer we get a first look at a mechanic called "Bond Arts", which are special attacks executed by three party members that are acquired by finishing "Memory Link Quests". This sounds like a seamless and immersive execution of gameplay as it not only enhances your combat moves, but also allows you to build the bonds between the members of the Straw Hat Pirates.
In addition, the video also introduces the concept of "Cube Fragments" that allow your crew to gain an edge in battle against the enemy. In the city of Water Seven, expect beautiful scenery, exotic dungeons, and a wide variety of characters to meet. As a quick refresher, One Piece Odyssey is an adventure RPG that sees the Straw Hat Pirates set off on a new journey on a mysterious new island. It is an original story with new characters developed by creator Eiichiro Oda.
One Piece Odyssey is coming to PC via Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on Janurary 13, 2023. Pre-orders are available now for $59.99.
