Square Enix has dropped a new trailer showcasing some of the features we can expect from their upcoming remaster/remake of Crisis Core titled Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. They stress that this version of the game is more than just a simple remaster of the original on the PlayStation Portable. The entire game has gotten a complete graphical overall and looks beautiful on modern day consoles. I can already see myself being absolutely obsessed with the newly arranged soundtrack because Takeharu Ishimoto never misses. In addition, the game is fully voiced in both English and Japanese but I'm looking forward the most to the updated combat system.
As a brief refresher, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is a modernized remake of the original Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, a prequel spin off of Final Fantasy VII. You play as Zack Fair during his time as a Soldier for the Shinra Electric Power Company. Combat utilizes real time action events alongside the Digital Mind Wave system, which allows Zack to perform special Limit Breaks and other abilities.
The developers also provided some information regarding the graphical modes and performance on each platform:
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam December 13, 2022. Pre-orders are available now for $49.99.
