EA sports games in general, but FIFA in particular has always been pretty good about putting together a decent soundtrack. Gaming Nexus has posts on the subject going back 11 years now... Not sure I can make any judgements just yet as I only turned this year's collection for FiFA 23 on just as I started typing this post, but I'm definitely interested to see where the playlist goes. I'm no longer a Spotify premium subscriber so I've only got the soundtrack on shuffle, and it's 1-1-1 right now with one win, one meh, and one I had to skip. I'm sure the in-game settings option will carry over into this year as well so I can find what ever noise masquerading as a song that last one was and burn it with fire. But that's just like, my opinion man...
The soundtrack itself brings together 100 songs, 50+ of which will feature as in-menu songs. Some of the artists are also going to get their own kits as in-game items for Ultimate Team. There is also a dedicated Volta Football soundtrack in-game that, according to the press release, is a "carefully curated mixture of hip hop, alternative, electronic dance and pop music."
FIFA 23 releases September 30th for PS4 and PS5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and PC or Stadia. There is an Early access period starting today, the 27th, for pre-orders of the Ultimate Edition.
