If it's in the game, it's in the game.
Maybe we ought to change that to:
If it's in a fictional popular streaming show about the game, it's in the game.
Jokes aside, I am thrilled by this. I love Ted Lasso. It was perhaps the perfect show at the perfect time during the early stages of the pandemic to feel good while actually tackling real subjects with wonderful characters. And while season 2 didn't quite hit the heights of Season 1, it did like many middle outputs of a trilogy and set the stage for a Season 3 I can't wait for. Well to bide that time, I can now bring Ted, AFC Richmond, the Richmond players, and even Coach Beard into FIFA 23.
The full team and characters will be available for Career Mode, Kickoff, Online Friendlies, and Online Seasons. You can either select the team from the "Rest of the World" lineup of clubs or import them into a career save by replacing another team in a given league. The team features the stars of the Greyhounds lineup like Roy Kent, Jamie Tartt, Sam Obisanya, and Dani Rojas. A number of assets like badges, kits, and tifos will be available for FUT and Pro Clubs, with both Coach Lasso and Coach Beard making their way to FUT as selectable coaches. Richmond's home stadium, Nelson Road, will also be in the game.
FUT and Pro Clubs content will be won through objectives rather than found in packs so if you're not interested in this crossover, it won't effect your game. More info can be found on the official site: https://www.ea.com/games/fifa/fifa-23/news/fifa-23-ted-lasso-afc-richmond
