During today's Nintendo Direct, Capcom announced that their modern Resident Evil games made with the RE Engine would be coming to the Switch via Cloud Streaming. The titles include Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, Resident Evil 7 biohazard and Resident Evil Village.
There is no current release date for Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7 for Nintendo Switch. All will come before the end of the year though. The first to come is Resident Evil Village which will launch on Nintendo Switch on October 28, 2022 with the Winters' Expansion coming on December 2, 2022. A free demo for Village will be made available to stream on the Nintendo eShop which allows players to test out the connection for a limited time.
Village follows the events of Resident Evil 7 biohazard and sees Ethan as he enters a nightmarish remote village in search of his daughter. It continues to use the first person view that 7 introduced. The Winters' Expansion will introduce a third person mode and additional characters for The Mercenaries and Shadows of Rose story DLC.
