The City in NBA 2K23 for next gen has been revealed and it looks promising. The train station now allows you to fast travel around the city which is helpful if you need to go across the city and you don't have any of the vehicles. All of the special games like the cages and 1v1 are all in the theater. This helps us so we don't have to move everywhere just to play something other than the NBA or 3v3 games. There are four areas on the corners for each team, they have custom courts and props to correspond with each team. There seems to be more freedom as there seems to be less cutscenes for going into an NBA game, the trailer shows the MyPlayer going through the player entrance, through the media pictures, going into the locker room, and waiting in the player tunnel. I like this because it makes it more real and authentic to see and feel what a real NBA player goes through to get to a game.
These changes 2K have made feel like a step in the right direction. As I said before its more realistic, they made it easier to move around and find things. I hope they add back the cutscenes for when you enter a store, also hope they added back the barber shop. I liked the interactions between us and the store workers especially the barber.
