Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries announced a fresh batch of content delays and the cancellation of a promised feature for one of Xbox’s flagship, albeit struggling, titles. The ability to play the game’s campaign cooperatively, the Forge beta, and the third season of post-launch content have all been pushed to a later date.
A new content roadmap and development update video from 343 Industries reveal that campaign co-op, which was scheduled for an August release, will now release on November 8th, as will the Forge beta that was originally planned for September. Halo Infinite’s third season of content – called Echoes Within – has also been delayed all the way to March 2023. It will run from March 7th to June 27th and include new weapons, a 100-tier battle pass, new equipment, and new game modes. In the meantime, a Winter Update is planned which will run from November 8th until March 7th. In addition to the aforementioned campaign co-op and Forge beta, the Winter Update will include two new maps – Detachment and Argyle – and a 30-tier battle pass.
On top of content delays and despite still receiving online co-op campaign functionality, players can remove split-screen local co-op multiplayer from their wish list, as 343 Industries also announced it has been cancelled.
