So if you haven't heard, following the very successful reboot of Modern Warfare, Activision is also re-making Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Like all games in this genre, there are pre-order bonus tied to those that commit early. Now, I'm going to go ahead and state my opinion up front: I don't pre-order games. I just don't. I've been burned too many times by bad releases that I prefer to make sure the game actually lives up to its promise before getting soured by rocky launches. But I'm not taking a moral stance on that one, and as the dude would say "that's just like.. my opinion, man." You do you.
If you are down with the pre-order roulette, then Modern Warfare 2 has two versions: the standard cross-gun version that nets you the game on release as well as early access to the single player campaign and early access to the Beta. Then there is the Vault Edition that includes all that plus some cosmetics, earlier access to some operators and weapons, the season pass (Battle Pass), and 50 tier skips for progression unlockables as well as a bunch of double XP tokens for faster natural progression. Standard edition is $70, Vault Edition is $30 more coming in at $100.
As for that Open Beta, that's coming Sept 18-20 on Playstation, with pre-order early access starting tow days before eon the 16th. The weekend after that, Sept 22-23, Xbox and PC players will start their early access Beta, while Playstation players continue the open Beta; and finally on Sept 24-26 all players all platforms all open. Modern Warfare 2 is set to release in full on October 28th, 2022. More detail is on the Call of Duty Blog.
