Back in March we posted that the release of Starship Troopers: Terran Command had been pushed back to June 16th. Well last week saw that release and the latest entry into the Starship Troopers universe is now available. I've always been a bit of a sucker for the franchise. The original film was very tongue in cheek and frankly, brilliant. A lot of the rest of the franchise has toed the line between so bad it's good and just bad, but it's the kind of shiny on the surface yet dystopic under the hood vision with just enough commentary I can get behind.
To coincide with the release, there is a full four and half minute gameplay trailer on YouTube, as well as the launch trailer below. Starship Troopers: Terran Command is an RTS game, and the press release details its key features as:
Dozens of unique unit types with special abilities, such as Fleet Liaison, Grenade and Rocket Turrets, Wavebreaker Mortar and Tactical Officer.
Terrain elevation, True Line of Sight & True Line of Fire provide deep tactical gameplay.
Fleets of dropships, expanding base infrastructure and strategic positioning.
Heroics, explosions, gore, and Bugs.
You can buy the game now on Steam for $30. Would you like to know more?
