Capcom revealed some new information including gameplay of their upcoming remake of the beloved Resident Evil 4 today at the Capcom showcase event. The story is set 6 years after the Raccoon City incident that Leon S. Kennedy was a part of in Resident Evil 2. As such, we see a much more mature and fearless Leon as he faces the Ganado.
The developers intend to use the environment to create a much more tense and scary atmosphere in the remake. Resident Evil 4 Remake hopes to preserve the essence of the original game while offering a fresh new feeling of modern day gaming. The game will, of course, feature state of the art modernized graphics and updated controls.
Director Yasuhiro Anpo and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayash explained that they want to retain the "feeling of fear and loneliness" of the original while still including thrilling battles. The game will still be in third person over the shoulder point of view and feel very similar to the Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remakes.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is coming to PC, Xbox Series S|X, and PlayStation 5 on March 24, 2023.
