It was leaked today, just a few hours shy of the 2022 Summer Games Fest, that The Last of Us Part 1 Remake would be coming to PlayStation 5 and PC. Pre-orders were live for a few minutes before being taken down by Sony, hinting that the site page was published on accident. Nonetheless, it is still exciting news that the beloved title would be getting a "from the ground up" remake on the PlayStation 5.
The remake will include the base game and the prequel titled Left Behind. There has been no mention of the multiplayer Factions mode. The official listing on the PlayStation Direct website, which has been taken down says: This game is "a total overhaul of the original experience, faithfully reproduced but incorporating modernized gameplay, improved controls and expanded accessibility options. Plus, feel immersed with improved effects and enhanced exploration and combat."
The Last of Us Part 1 Remake is coming to PlayStation 5 on September 2, 2022 for $69.99. There will also be a special Firefly Edition that includes a steelbook, the American Dreams comic series 1-4 and "early in-game unlocks" for $99.99. The PC version is also in development but with no release date yet.
