There hasn't been Fortnite news on this site since 2020. Today changes that, but first, it's story time. When I started streaming with Games N Moorer in March of 2020, I said on several occasions that I would never play Fortnite, and I would never stream it on my channel. Then my longtime friend Travis Bennett from Loot Lovas Lounge kept asking me to just try it. It'll be fun, he said. You'll love it, he said. And I rejected his offers time after time, saying "I hate the building mechanism on Fortnite."
Now Fortnite has practically thrown it at me since then. They've added multiple Marvel cosmetic skins, including Thanos, Wolverine, and crossover skins like John Wick, and Kratos. The songs, the dances, and even the free concerts couldn't get me to pull the trigger on a sniper rifle. It just seemed like it was too popular for me. It was an overkill of trends. And then it happened. They added Street Fighter Characters Ryu and Chun Li. It wasn't enough. I couldn't do it. They added Guile, and Cammy. NO! Not this time. And then it happened again.
They added Spider-man. And they didn't just add Spider-Man, they added the Daily Bugle, and they added his web-shooters. Now I can swing around as Spider-Man in Fortnite, and then on the way down, blast a fool with an auto shotgun? And I can turn on a privacy mode where humans aren't screaming ridiculous nonsense in my ear? And I can set it where I only play with my online friends. You've twisted my arm. Dammit, I'm in.
It's 2022 now, and there are not 1, not 2, but three whole streams of me playing Fortnite. I've been playing since December. You can even see my very first Victory Royale here. And since then, my locker is full of skins, and custom pick axes, even a microphone courtesy of the Silk Sonic crossover. I'm running around with an Anderson Paak skin, upping my skills, and getting smacked a lot. I even bought the battle pass for the next season, which includes The Prowler, and Dr. Strange. And then the ultimate happened. ZERO BUILD! All the building was taken away. And I finally had a full reason to play this longtime staple in video game history, and enjoy it. Then they added it back in, but it now gives you the option to choose.
All this was to say that now Blanka and Sakura have been added as skins. And now I will probably never stop playing. I am hooked. This is how Overwatch got me, and this is how Fortnite gets you. This is also not an encouragement to start Fortnite. This is not so I can get on Epic's good side. This is a public apology to just Travis Bennett. I was wrong. Let's get these dubs.
