A new language is added to a game, so what? Wait for it.. it's sign language. Woah.
I can't say I've ever seen this one before, but I think it's very cool. Forza Horizon 5 is adding both ASL (American Sign Language) and BSL (British) to over 150 in-game cinematic. You turn the feature on via Settings -> Accessibility -> Sign Language Picture-in-Picture and just as it says, it pops up a PIP window to follow the spoken scenes with signs.
“There are so many people with disabilities and people who are deaf. And, there are a lot of closed doors every day. And what I mean by that is that we are consistently and constantly dealing with inequities that exist. The fact that I can just be on the same level playing field as them means I'm not focused on a closed door.” – Jenny Lay-Flurrie
I'm not a fan of Microsoft for various reasons going back years (and not least of all now because Games Pass is earning all sorts of praise and Sony has yet to respond) but well done Microsoft Studios, Xbox Games Studios, and all the devs at Playground Games for making this happen.
