Xbox Game Pass (and its very capable sister service PC Game Pass) just keep getting better and better. There are very few subscription services that deliver so much value, with AAA games landing on their release date left and right. There are so many games on Game Pass that no human could ever play them all.
Game Pass fans just got another surprise treat today when Ubisoft announced that Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction will be arriving on Game Pass for both consoles and PC when it launches on January 20. Not only that - the beloved Rainbow Six Siege is getting thrown into the mix as well - also arriving on January 20, just for funsies.
This is all a calculated marking move to announce that Ubisoft+, Ubisoft's proprietary subscription service, will soon be available on Xbox. Currently Ubisoft+ members can play Ubi games on PC, Stadia, and Luna, so adding Xbox to that list kind of blows the doors off in terms of possible membership. Whatever the reason, free Rainbow Six for Game Pass members is a pretty great addition to the already bursting-at-the-seams Game Pass lineup.
“By making Rainbow Six Extraction available to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass members on the day and date of its launch, we’re demonstrating that we believe in the value and choice that game subscriptions offer to players,” said Chris Early, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development at Ubisoft in a provided statement. “Rainbow Six Extraction for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass members is just the beginning. Ultimately, we will offer the Ubisoft+ subscription service to Xbox owners so that they can enjoy the full extent of our Ubisoft+ game library, including new releases, on their consoles.”
