A few days ago I was chatting with Games N Moorer's Joseph Moorer for a podcast recording (new episode of The Gaming Nexus Show coming this Thursday!). At the end of our chat, I told Joseph about Archvale, the new bullet-hell RPG from Humble Games. Archvale is on Xbox Game Pass, and as Joseph loves bullet-hell games and dungeon crawlers, I figured he would really enjoy the game. I challenged him to take a look at Archvale on his stream.
Last night, Joseph took me up on that challenge, introducing his audience to Archvale with his usual precision. The first minutes are calm, almost tranquil, while Joseph wanders the early fields of the game, eventually reaching the first town and engaging in some crafting and quest gathering. But Archvale first shows its fangs around the 11:20 mark, when Joseph teleports to an underground dungeon for some bullet-dodging fun. From there on, the game progressively gets harder and harder, especially when Joseph enters the first extensive dungeon around the 22:00 mark. Joe is usually really good at these games, so it's pretty fun for a weaker player like myself to watch him get absolutely railed by Archvale. Still, he does far better than I ever would. Check it out:
Archvale is now available from Humble Games on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox consoles.
