The Saints Row remake was originally scheduled to be released in a few months on February 25th 2022 but like many other yet to be released games, it has been delayed. The game will now release wordwide on August 23rd 2022. In a blog post, Chief Creative Officer Jim Boone posted the following
Saints Row will no longer release on the originally announced date of 25th February 2022, instead it will launch worldwide on 23rd August 2022.
Our priority is to create the best Saints Row game yet and, if we released on the original date, it wouldn’t be up to the standards we’ve set ourselves, and that you’re expecting and deserve. The team just need more time to do our vision justice; we’re doing some fine tuning and there won’t be much change in the game outside of overall quality and polish...
He goes into more detail stating that their original vision, story and characters will not be changed, despite an overwhelmingly negative reaction to the game when it was first released. As someone that was a huge fan of the original series, I have to say that I also was not impressed when the game was first revealed. I am willing to give it a shot but my interest for the game is also at an all time low.
