If you're interested in all things Steam Deck, Valve Software hosted a virtual developer's conference yesterday for the much anticipated device. As mentioned a few days ago, the Steam Deck's launch is being delayed two months, but it's not going to stop Valve from pumping out information on their upcoming hand held.
The various tracks covered in the presentation include an overview of the hardware, Proton support, inputs, and developing without the hardware just to name a few. Proton is the technology used for Linux compatibility with Windows based games. The Steam Deck is going to come installed with a Linux variant so Proton's needed to enable Windows games to work. Not all Windows games will work out of the box, but Valve is aiming for all their Steam titles to work with it.
Valve also goes through how the experience will be navigating on the Steam Deck. It's a Big Picture type view and it sounds like they are going to keep Big Picture more updated since the Steam Deck can plug into a TV for you to game on the big screen.
There's a nice swath of information and it's presented well and without any fluff. If you're interested in the Steam Deck, check out the entire presentation below.
