My family plays a lot of Stadia, but there's no question that the titles offered have skewed towards the "adult gamer" end of the spectrum. My kids still enjoy the Just Dance games and some Coatsink titles (Cake Bash for the win, y'all!), but having more to offer them would definitely be a good thing.
Enter Outright Games, the premier name in licensed children's videogames (I'm not just saying that - Outright pretty much owns the category). On August 13, Outright Games is headlining the new Kids & Family category in the Stadia Store. Outright will be dropping a swath of kids' games into the store on day one, with the promise of more to come in the months and years ahead. Outright Games has a great lineup scheduled for the rest of 2021, so it would be a great shot in the arm for Stadia's family offerings if those games come to Google's streaming platform.
The big draw immediately is PAW PATROL: THE MOVIE ADVENTURE CITY CALLS, which is a tie-in with the Paw Patrol movie releasing in theaters this summer. Also on the docket are DreamWorks Dragons Dawn of New Riders, Gigantosaurus The Game, Ice Age: Scrat's Nutty Adventure, and PAW Patrol: Mighty Pups Save Adventure Day - the last of which will be free with Stadia Pro on day one.
In a provided statement, Terry Malham, CEO of Outright Games says "As cloud technology continues to make gaming even more accessible for families the world over, Stadia and their new section of the storefront user interface will continue to help parents and guardians give their children quality, age-appropriate video games to enjoy. This is just the start of what we feel will be a powerful partnership with Stadia, as we look to bring out a stream of titles over the coming months and years."
This is nothing but good news for Stadia fans with kids, as this is a vertical of gaming that has been mostly missing from the platform. As Stadia expands in the gaming public's estimation, establishing relationships like this will only help solidify the platform's standing.
