Lightforge Games is overflowing with talent, aims to make unique RPG

What happens when you take people that have worked on Fortnite, World of Warcraft, Diablo 3, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Hearthstone, the StarCraft 2 trilogy, Overwatch, Elder Scrolls Online? Well it’s Lightforge Games. They’re the new kid in town, but also not at the same time. They also come from a large background: Epic, Blizzard, Riot, Bioware, and Zenimax Online. The goal of the company? To make a RPG that changes the genre forever.

"We all love highly social, creative games, and we particularly love games where players drive the narrative," CEO Matt Schembari said. "We are looking to combine elements from Minecraft or Roblox with tabletop RPGs to form a new way to play roleplaying games. Given our backgrounds, making a game that looks to revolutionize RPGs was an obvious choice."

The studio is a little unique in how it’s been run. Currently it’s an all-remote studio, allowing employees to work and live just about wherever they would like. So far Lightforge Games has raised over $5 million from investors with their new unannounced game.
