It might be down to Lady Dimitrescu but Resident Evil Village is already proving to be a massive success for Capcom. In fact, the latest instalment in the long-running series has absolutely smashed records as far as concurrent players and viewers go.
Thanks to SteamDB, we can see that Resident Evil Village hit an all-time peak of 102,817 players. This bests the previous record of 74,227 players for Resident Evil 2 Remake. It beats the prior Resident Evil release, Resident Evil 3 Remake, which peaked at 60,293 players. Shockingly, Resident Evil 7 only peaked at 20,449 players back in 2017.
Twitch numbers tell a similar story. Resident Evil 7 boasted 224,481 Twitch viewers at its peak on January 23rd. Resident Evil Village has already bested that number by peaking at 658,703 Twitch viewers.
I’m currently playing through Resident Evil Village and you can expect my review to be published next week. Hint: it’s going to be positive.
