At today's Sony State of Play, developer Unknown Worlds peeled back the curtain on Subnautica: Below Zero, giving details about PlayStation 5 gameplay and DualSense controller support.
Subnautica: Below Zero looks crisp and clean on PS5, and the good news is that owners of the original Subnautica on PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade to the next-gen version for free. That's just about every PlayStation Plus member, as Subnautica was a Plus Game just last month.
Haptic feedback will be used throughout Subnautica: Below Zero, allowing the player to feel weapons and tools being used, as well as incoming attacks. The controller will also offer "visual and audio cues linked to key game moments ranging from tool implementation to terrifying creature encounters", which makes it sound like a lot of work went into optimizing Below Zero for PS5.
Subnautica: Below Zero is scheduled to release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, all of the Xboxes, PC, and Nintendo Switch on May 14.
