Xbox has long been criticised for locking online multiplayer for free-to-play games behind the Xbox Live Gold paywall. After all, that defeats the purpose of free-to-play games. Today, that all changes. Confirmed via an official news post, all Xbox players will be able to access online multiplayer at no charge for a library of over 50 free-to-play games that support online multiplayer.
A full list of free-to-play games available on Xbox can be found by clicking here. There’s shooters, strategy, and fantasy MMORPGs, and more. Moreover, Microsoft is also unlocking Xbox party chat and the Looking For Groups (LFG) feature as part of this rollout.
