It's horror trailer day on Gaming Nexus, and we've got a doozy for you. In the Song of Horror trailer, we have a very fun and scary looking game, combined with a very dramatic 80s-style narrator saying stuff like "Daniel Noyer is afraid...he listened to a forbidden music box...and now....a presence is chasing him..." It's all pretty great, in a fun tongue-in-cheek sort of way.
Song of Horror was developed by Protocol Games, and released to a fair amount of acclaim on Steam last year. Now the game is coming to consoles, arriving on PlayStation and Xbox on May 28.
In Song of Horror, players get to choose from 13 different characters, taking on the mystery of writer's disappearance. Fighting isn't really an option, so expect to do a lot of running away and hiding. Each character will see the world in a slightly different way, allowing them to approach the mystery from varied angles. If they get bumped off by the evil presence in the game, players will pick up the thread of the investigation with another character. No word yet on what happens if you get all 13 characters killed.
Song of Horror looks pretty cool, an homage to the classic settings and mechanics of the genre with a fun, modern twist. We'll be keeping an eye on this one, as it looks like a ton of spooky fun.
