I saw the news about In Sound Mind this morning, and I thought "Ho hum, another survival horror game". But then I watched the trailer, and at the end I saw the Modus Games logo, which had me spinning back to the news with fresh eyes. Frankly, I trust Modus Games to pick winners. If they feel like developer We Create Stuff's new game is worth publishing, then I am convinced it is worth playing.
Not a lot is known about the story in In Sound Mind, but there is definitely some psychological funny business going on here, with the lead character seemingly trapped in a battle with their own memories. According to a recent press release, "In Sound Mind twists seemingly simple recollections into shocking encounters with terrifying threats, unbelievable scenes, and a mysterious talking cat for good measure."
Folks with good enough PCs can snag a free demo from Steam to check out the game before its August 3 release. For the rest of us, In Sound Mind is also scheduled to release on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
