Amazon Luna has been making some moves lately. Not only has the platform been adding more and more recent games, but it has also started announcing what games are coming soon. This is a big shift, as up until now I would simply check Luna every week to see what new stuff popped up. Now I have a list of things to look forward to - and it's a fairly impressive list, at that.
While there are no listed dates for when these games arrive, Luna has announced (on its new blog page) the following games will be arriving soon.
Call of the Sea (initially released in December, 2020): a first-person adventure puzzle game set in the 1930s that tells the story of Norah, a woman on the trail of her missing husband’s expedition. The search takes place on a strange but beautiful island in the South Pacific, filled with secrets waiting to be unearthed. It is an otherworldly tale of mystery, adventure, and self-discovery.
Ghostrunner (initially released October, 2020): a unique single-player experience: fast-paced, violent combat, and an original setting that blends science fiction with post-apocalyptic themes. It tells the story of a world that has already ended and its inhabitants who fight to survive.
Narita Boy (initially released...umm...two days ago): A radical action-adventure as a legendary pixel hero trapped as a mere echo within the Digital Kingdom. Discover the mysteries behind the Techno-sword, lock swords with the corrupt and tainted Stallions. Save the world!
Yeah, I would like to play all three of these games. At this point, Luna is overflowing with games that appeal to my tastes. There are more games on the platform than I would ever have time for, which is a ridiculous value for $5.99 a month. Though the platform is still missing a few features that would make it feel more "mature" (stuff like trophies, etc), it is coming along nicely for something that is still in beta. One of these days, I'm going to need to get a Firestick and dig into this giant pile of games in earnest.
