In January, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum announced it'd been picked up by publisher Nacon. It simultaneously announced a delay, pushing it from 2021 into a 2022 launch window. Today, however, Gollum shows signs of life. Sort of. The scurrying little dissociative identity disorder-having fella gets a familiar cinematic teaser. In fact, this is just publisher Nacon posting the exact same cinematic teaser that developer Daedalic released seven months ago.
Weird. But at least that tells us Gollum's publisher hasn't forgotten about him. It's good to know Nacon has him on the radar, amidst mentions of Hunting Simulator 2 [Gaming Nexus score 7.4] coming to next-gen systems. Not to mention hot on the heels of Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood [GN score 6.5].
The little guy sure loves fish. Or at least killing them and leaving them lying about. Check out how he ate just the lightbulb thingy off an anglerfish, though. Brutal. This episode of Gollum's life has him scraping for an existence in Shelob's lair, the giant spider demon. And that lair is right on Mordor's fence line with the rest of Middle-earth.
