There are times when the Metacritic gets it wrong—just dead wrong. One of those times was on Mad Max. Released back in 2015, only a few months after the theatrical release of Mad Max: Fury Road, Mad Max the video game was weirdly maligned for a lot of inexplicable reasons. One, because it wasn't just a video game adaptation of the movie, I guess. And two, because it wasn't The Witcher 3, Shadow of Mordor, or Batman: Arkham City (which, hey, Jim Sterling, I've never met you, bro, but what are you even talking about? Your Wix site is gone so I guess I'll never know.)
Anyway, only play Mad Max if you're interested in:
And you can get it for five bucks over on Steam or GOG or Humble right now. I'm noting that we never did a formal review for Mad Max. That's startling and I shoulder the blame for that, 100 percent. I might just be able to fix that problem.
This game is five years old. Still looks better than most of the buttery, sickly sweet graphics you see coming out nowadays.
