Five years? Well, technically it's four years on, because we didn't start with year 0 but year 1, but back in 2017 I never would have thought that For Honor would still be going strong. But here we are. I guess it shouldn't be a big surprise. That clever combination of fighting game moves and gameplay, the variety of character styles to endear players to a build they could excited about, and game modes that reached beyond the smash and bash of simple one on one combat had all the ingredients for a loyal and lasting fan base.
Year 5, season 1 kicks off March 11th for the 25 million players who have played For Honor over the years on PS4, Xbox One, and PC (and next-gen systems via backwards compatibility). This season begins the Asunder storyline that is a continuation of the war between the Chimera Alliance and the Order of Horkos that began in season 4. However, with Asunder the warriors take break to nejoy festivities within their clans. From the press release:
Beginning March 11, a limited-time in-game event called the Horkos Masquerade will let players prove themselves to the Order of Horkos through a new 4v4 game mode: Carousel of Horkos. A free event pass will be available for the duration of the event with 30 tiers to complete.
Season 1 also delivers an update to the Warden, new armor and weapons, new emotes, and more in-game events. The Season was detailed in a recent Twitch Livestream that you can see the video for here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/936709338
