The details of Diablo II: Resurrected continue to surface as the game producer of Diablo II: Resurrected, Matthew Cederquist, was interviewed by Middle East IGN and confirmed some details.
While the game is going to be on multiple platforms, there won't be any cross-play. It's a tad disappointing as I was hoping to play with friends on the console while I play on the PC, but because of the differences in the UI and other factors, that feature wasn't brought to light.
You will be able to carry your progression from different platforms so that's good. At least you won't be left with different characters if you play on multiple platforms.
But something that should please old players is you can import your old save files to the game. That means you won't lose all that hard work you've put in over the years to play the remastered game. Good job on Blizzard for making this feature!
Diablo II: Resurrected is scheduled for 2021 on PC, Switch, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox Series X|S.
