Marvel’s Avengers hasn’t quite been the success Square Enix might’ve hoped for considering the mammoth success of the cinematic Marvel projects. It didn’t help that Marvel’s Avengers is a live service game; a term that’s becoming increasingly unpopular in gaming.
On release, critics widely criticised Marvel’s Avengers for feeling too grindy. Our own Nathan Carter shared this sentiment in his review: “As of now, there isn't really much to do after finishing the campaign except for grinding out the same repetitive missions and objectives over and over again.”
In a blog post on the official Marvel’s Avengers website, it was revealed that from March 18 Marvel’s Avengers is “increasing the amount of XP needed to level up, starting from around level 25. This amount will increase the closer you get to level 50 so that it will take longer to reach higher levels.
This news hasn’t been received well on social media. Backlash is starting to overshadow the upcoming release of both Hawkeye and the official next-gen versions of Marvel’s Avengers.
